New Wellness Hub opens its doors in Bolsover
Bolsover District Council has launched a new Wellness Hub to help older adults and those living with long term health conditions exercise more.
Based at the Go! Active leisure facility the suite boasts a 12-station circuit of power-assisted exercise machines, which provide an exercise solution for members and an important referral pathway for the wellness team.
A key part to the new Hub is the social element where participants can come and exercise, have a chat and a cup of tea, providing a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
Cabinet Member for Leisure, Councillor David Downes said, “We already have a very successful Bolsover Wellness scheme, but we wanted to expand on this and provide a more comprehensive programme for our residents that provides them with opportunities to lead a more active and healthy lifestyle.
“So we are delighted to have opened up this new facility, specifically aimed at helping our older community and those with long term health conditions who find it difficult to move and exercise. It has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and we hope that by encouraging more people to attend we can improve the health of our local communities.”
