Manufacturing Technician

Salary:
£24,823.50 per annum, paid monthly
Sickness scheme and pension available upon successful completion of probation.

Working hours:
Full Time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 37.5 paid with 30 mins unpaid for lunch daily)
 

Role description:

Shapemaster Global Limited (t/a Innerva) is a UK designer and manufacturer of power assisted exercise equipment, established since 1989.

We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our team. The manufacturing technician is responsible for assembling various components and products according to specified guidelines, standards, and procedures. This role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to follow instructions accurately to ensure the final products meet our expected quality standards.
 

Personal Skills & Requirements:

  • Ability to read and understand drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Basic maths and measurement skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physically active, with some lifting required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and multitask environment.
  • Use of hand tools, power tools, and assembly machinery.
  • Offsite working - required at times for installation of equipment, servicing or repair work.

Key Responsibilities:

Component Assembly:

  • Assemble products or components using hand tools, power tools, or machinery.
  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures to accurately assemble products.

Quality Control:

  • Inspect parts and assemblies for defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Report any issues or defects to the supervisor for corrective action.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • ​​Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Tool & Equipment Maintenance: 

  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment as needed.

Documentation:

  • Complete production and quality logs accurately and on time.
  • Track and record assembly data as required.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other team members to meet prodution goals.
  • Assist in training new assembly workers as needed.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Suggest and implement improvements in assembly processes to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement.

The Manufacturing Technician will report directly to the Operations Director.

Qualifications:

Education: Minimum requirement GCSE in Maths & English or equivalent.
Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment is preferred, but not essential for the right applicant.
Full UK Driving License Required
